Creating a virtual Stroke brain

BY PHILLIP JOHNSTON

Work by Phillip Johnston, presented at the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Partnership for Stroke Recovery’s (CPSR) Annual Scientific Meeting, demonstrates clinical relevance of The Virtual Brain (TVB) in Stroke recovery. Phil will use the pipeline described here to identify biophysical parameters (e.g. excitatory/inhibitory balance) underlying abnormal features of electrophysiological activity in stroke, and offer a platform for modelling the effects of neurostimulation and pharmacological interventions targeted to these parameters.
